Sam Abell: Amazonia 11 June – 18 July & 4 – 31 August
Amazonia is a traveling exhibition from the Schnitzer Museum of Art, University of Oregon. The accompanying catalogue is sponsored by the Oakwood Foundation which also supported the exhibition along with Canon USA, Carol Angle, Ruth Cross, Robert Strini, Linda Wachtmeister and Sharon Ungerleider.

The Amazon Aid Foundation, co founded by Sarah DuPont and Dr. David Lutz, and LYDM Gallery are teaming up to present Art and Acres for the Amazon in an attempt to create meaningful Christmas shopping alternatives this season while raising money to help protect the Amazon.
There will be a kick off event at LYDM on Tuesday, December 13 from 5-8 pm, which will feature art, music, festive holiday fare and libations, and a preview of the trailer to Amazon Gold. There will also be a first glimpse at Dean Dass's earth affirming video The Winter War. More details >

LYDM is excited to announce the addition of sculptor Kurt Steger to our stable. His Burden Boat will be a focal point of the 9/11 Arts Project in Washington D.C. from 9/8 - 9/11. It will be placed in the Kogod Courtyard between the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, (750 9th St. NW.) and it will be used in a water cleansing ceremony at 4 p.m. on 9/11. Steger's exhibition at LYDM is scheduled for the spring of 2012.
LYDM formed the Collector's Club in 2008 in order to provide discounts on art, monthly talks, special events and trips.
